École de technologie supérieure

The École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal is part of the network of the University of Quebec. She specializes in applied engineering and technology. It offers engineering school training and graduate up to PhD programs.
The Bachelor lasts 4 years and includes three 4-month paid internships in companies.
The project with master’s programs (M.Ing.) Offer the possibility of making an application project or intervention in business.
The master’s programs with thesis (MASc) are an introduction to the process of research and innovation.
Doctoral programs offer two profiles: applied research and industrial innovation.

A trendy school on the industry:
The special feature of the ETS lies in its close ties with business and practical education. Since its creation, it maintains a unique partnership with the business and industry, both with large enterprises as SMEs, both locally and internationally.

CIRRELT

CIRRELT result of the merger of two established research centers, the Centre for Research on Transportation (CRT) and the Centre for Research on technology network organization (CENTOR), joined to two groups of researchers in the field of logistics, Polygistique research group (Polytechnique) and NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Logistics Management UQAM.

Established in 1971 by the University of Montreal, the CRT since 1988 was a joint center of HEC Montreal and Ecole Polytechnique; his field of expertise was the main quantitative and computational methods applied to the planning, management and operation of transport networks as many people as goods and data. In its domain, the CRT was the academic research organization the largest in Canada and one of the three largest in the world. Over the years, the CRT has developed an international network of collaboration with the scientific world and was recognized among other methodological breakthroughs and developments for its powerful tools in the field of transport (several hundred transport companies and agencies planning use products originally developed CRT).

Founded in 1994, the CENTOR was a recognized center of Laval University since 1996. He had become over the years a faculty and university multi multi center whose research program focused on the design and piloting technologies company and its networks, with a view to new economy. The CENTOR was the architect of several major research initiatives including the Research Consortium logistics networks of the forest industry FOR @ C and four research chairs. The CENTOR had distinguished himself by his successful collaborations with industry and the development of approaches and innovative tools for engineering and management of the entire logistics chain.

Founded in 2001, Polygistique, group research in engineering logistics, was a research unit of Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal. His work focused on the methods and advanced technologies in logistics for companies producing goods and services firms. The NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Logistics Management UQAM is a multidisciplinary research group recognized in 2006 by UQÀM. His work focuses on the advancement of models, methods and tools for planning of logistics and transport systems and technology transfer.

In 2013, for the renewal of the Strategic Combination grant from FRQNT three new institutional partners have entered into the CIRRELT: the École de Technologie Supérieure, Concordia University and McGill University.

CIRRELT now includes the vast majority of Quebec researchers working in the production of knowledge of engineering and management logistics networks, business and transportation.

CIRODD

The CIRODD is a strategic combination that overall objective is to accelerate the implementation of sustainable development principles in the strategic industrial sectors of Quebec and by cutting-edge research in four areas 1: measuring sustainable development, 2: the operationalization of enterprise tools, 3 socioeconomic integration tools and 4: transfer among users. Through its interdisciplinary research activities involving engineering sciences, social sciences and economics as well as its concrete research projects with users, the CIRODD offers an integrated research program to fulfill its mission to “carry out, coordinate, integrate and transferring research operationalization of sustainable development with the ultimate objective to facilitate the emergence of a green economy. “

CIRODD’s activities are organized to provide its members with the means to increase the impact of their work to promote collaborative research projects, facilitate research funding, to facilitate the transfer of knowledge to users and implement training activities that will train a specialized workforce with an interdisciplinary vision for the solution of complex problems.

The grouping consists of more than 82 recognized researchers in the fields of life cycle analysis, process re-engineering, process engineering, eco-design, industrial symbiosis, green logistics, measurement and analysis of sustainability, social responsibility of business, policy and environmental legislation, the green economy and sustainable innovation. In addition, our research teams have shown that they are active in several key sectors of the Quebec industry (aeronautics, forestry, mobility and transportation, building and real estate, ICT, mining and agribusiness). Our researchers come from 11 universities and three CEGEPs and 1 Technology Transfer Centre.

The quality of our researchers is evident because several of them are holders of research chairs and are involved in a significant number of research groups. CIRODD of research activities are carried out within these 19 Research Chairs.
